I Thought I Seen Your Mouth Move

Reading lips is now my new gift

I was amazed by the moves lips made

It’s almost like I could take the words right out of your mouth

I had became quite nosy

I was always looking at what someone was talking about

Predicting their words before they were even heard

Some people knew I was deaf but most took me as a nerd

Who would ever think sign language would make me famous

It’s like I could prophesize just by looking into your eyes

Facial expressions spoke for themselves

And that’s how I knew what you were thinking and how you felt

I could tell from one conversation the mistakes you were making

So I lead people to Christ with my tips of advice

Once I went deaf I became very spiritual

I would take what my Father said seriously in order to perform a miracle

I was blessed with this wisdom

So over a period of time reading lips I could see visions

Even though I couldn’t hear, these pictures were painted clear

That’s how I could relate to the things people went through

Reading lips helps me see things from their point of view

There tense emotions

I actually seen how they developed this sporadic behavior

That’s when I passed this problem on to our Lord and savior

It wasn’t so much telling the future but getting over the past

Because with God you can be yourself without a mask

Once I helped them come out of their hiding, immediately they

started crying

And that’s how I could tell they were trying

I let God take his place while I wiped the tears from their face

I believe I became deaf too see other people get blessed

Since then I’ve seen so many lives improve

And I often find myself asking someone I thought I seen your mouth move.
